Have a Seat

October 26, 2011

Heading down to High Point to see miles and miles of sofas, chairs, tables, lamps and rugs at the monster furniture show.  It's always good to see what waves this industry is making.  Trends are started here and these companies set the pace for others to follow.   That said, there's a lot of well designed and well priced pieces out there so sharing a few favorite finds in case you're on the hunt.  These aren't future heirlooms but solid pieces that offer some personality.   Here goes....

Urban Outfitters got this adorable chevron chair that comes in a few different colors and all for under $300.

Nate Berkus's ottoman is pretty great at $119 from HSN.  Having lugged one home from a trip to Moroccan, I am impressed with this look for less.

Leave it up to Martha Stewart to try and get us all crafting.  Her table for Home Decorators gets me dreaming about all the projects that I could do on it-the painting, the sewing, the computer surfing.... And priced at $229, it's a "getable" dream.

Leave it to West Elm to update the already classic parson's table. It's perfect for us who need to consolidate the cords in our lives.  It's a bit pricer at $399 but with it's built in speakers and docking station, it gives small space dwellers a nice two in one piece.

$20 steal

April 6, 2011

Rain. Again.

I'm clamoring for color.  Again.   But payday isn't here so I'm looking for a deal.  Check out Burke Decor's cotton, two toned handwoven rugs.  Get a few of these 2x3 numbers and sew into a runner.  Put in any room that needs a spot of color.  Toss in washing machine when they get too dirty.

At $20 a pop, these rugs are easy on the eyes and wallet.

Style for a Song

November 3, 2010

Payless had their spring preview last week and what a preview it was. The highlight was the second collection with fashion star, Isabel Toledo. Check out her sassy striped heels.

And her two looks in one boots.

Love this heel!

Lela Rose's new collection also plays up the heel this season.

Christian, of Project Runway fame, also had nice flats in fall colors following fashion's lead.  It seems this spring the pastels are gone and we'll be dressing more like it's September.

He's skin printed heels and bag give a lot of look the buck. The clutch is a nice size and has pretty hardware.

Payless's own designers created these adorable jelly meets thong sandal for summer.  Tres Chic!

Big news? Payless has also launched a new makeup line for you beauty gals.

A funny part of the line is the all natural germ cleaner in bright colors + nice scents. This is much cooler than Purell's hand sanitizer.

The best part??  Nothing is over $50!  The collections hit the stores in February
