Quick Change Artist

October 8, 2009

It happens all the time.  "Oh, you've decorated!"  my friend, Haley, declared. Visiting from England, she hadn't been over in a few months.  The truth isn't that I have been decorating, more like accessorizing. That is one of my best decorating secrets.  With Benjamin Moore's Decorator White on the walls, black lacquer on the floor and white duck canvas on the sofa,  I wanted a neutral background to add pops of color (and boy, do I love color) and patterns to create different vignettes.  I embrace the seasons and can't imagine not switching things up like I do my clothes, cocktails and food. Who can eat a tomato in January or root vegetable in June? Just about the time I want to stock the fridge with rose, I'm overwhelmed with the need for hues from a setting sun.  Whether I have a case of Decorating Attention Deficit Disorder or just a plain need for change, mixing it up is a must.  Why have a sofa that looks the same all year? Check out the fabrics that I used during the last dog days of September.

Let me know what you think.
