Autumn in New York

It's Opera Season at Lincoln Center

Pumpkin flavored EVERYTHING. Pumpkin Ale, Anyone?

Union Square Green Market is overloaded with gourds, pumpkins & awfully attractive farmers.

Lovely, gorgeous, beloved dehlias are BACK!

The Best Apple Cider in town at Migliorelli stand at Green Market.   (Pear Cider is delish too!)

And Yankees are heading to World Series......

Vermont

Was in Brattleboro, Vt last week.  New England was showing off her finery.

Unable to resist the beauty,  I took a few branches back to my 400 Square Feet.  Vermont, welcome to New York City!

Quick Change Artist

October 8, 2009

It happens all the time.  "Oh, you've decorated!"  my friend, Haley, declared. Visiting from England, she hadn't been over in a few months.  The truth isn't that I have been decorating, more like accessorizing. That is one of my best decorating secrets.  With Benjamin Moore's Decorator White on the walls, black lacquer on the floor and white duck canvas on the sofa,  I wanted a neutral background to add pops of color (and boy, do I love color) and patterns to create different vignettes.  I embrace the seasons and can't imagine not switching things up like I do my clothes, cocktails and food. Who can eat a tomato in January or root vegetable in June? Just about the time I want to stock the fridge with rose, I'm overwhelmed with the need for hues from a setting sun.  Whether I have a case of Decorating Attention Deficit Disorder or just a plain need for change, mixing it up is a must.  Why have a sofa that looks the same all year? Check out the fabrics that I used during the last dog days of September.

Let me know what you think.

Banking to go

New York Dish
This van cum bank was on 14th Street this weekend. Not exactly sure if this inspires great consumer confidence in financial institutions but it sure made me laugh.
